This project was planned in response to the outcome and the challenges set forth by the 2-year research project, from School Year 2014 through 2015, titled "A pilot study of Local Collaboration between NPOs in Machida City and Wako University( Project Leader: Chikanobu Michiba).  As we reviewed the research conducted during School Year 2015, the keyword "self-government" emerged as the intersection of community contribution by NPOs in Machida and educational activities at Wako University (Michiba et al. 2016). Therefore, in 2016, we set forth the objective to "how to install the capability of self-government in university education" by sharing the experience of NPOs and university faculty with each other to envision and try running a concrete collaborative program. This paper consists of the following chapters. Chapter 1 elucidates the background leading to the undergraduate educational program to learn about self-government. Chapter 2 introduces the contents of the public lectures aimed at the students.
